Polystyrene Elements - the core technology of the Thermal Building System

Polystyrene elements are used to make up the formwork of the building. The foundations are made of reinforced concrete panels. The elements are then mounted together layer by layer (just as you would LEGO pieces ) using special mounting supports. Space is cut out for the windows and doors, and the wiring is fitted at this stage. The polystyrene panels are then concreted together.
The system offers 2 different types of elements - med for walls, and cedry for floors and ceilings.

It is recommended that the concrete used for the walls meets the requirements for concrete types B20 and B30 and the fireproof walls specification as issued by Statens Bugkruistenkniste Etal and Boverket in Sweden. The insulation properties have been tested by Norges Buggforskning Institute - the Norwegian Institute for Construction Studies and Research. The test results show a heat conduction value of 0.22-0.30 Wm2K. The sound insulating properties have been tested by ELAB - the technical centre for sound tests.
